Fresh border tension in Odisha? Chhattisgarh cuts off road in Nabarangpur
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- A new border dispute emerged in Nabarangpur district following the Kotia controversy after allegations surfaced that the Chhattisgarh administration entered Odisha's territory. The local sarpanch alleged that officials from the neighbouring state entered Majhidhanuan Panchayat under Kosagumuda block and used an excavator to cut off a key connecting road.
The road was reportedly being used by residents from both states for several years. Local residents stated that cutting the road severely affected transportation, agricultural activities, and local business.
Locals raised strong demands for a high-level investigation into the incident and immediate restoration of the road connection.
