Bhubaneswar, June 30 -- Normal life came to a standstill in Odisha's Daspalla on Tuesday as residents observed a 12-hour bandh to protest against frequent unannounced power cuts and demand uninterrupted electricity supply. The agitation was spearheaded by the Electricity Consumers' Association, which also placed a five-point charter of demands before the authorities.

Protesters alleged that repeated and unscheduled power outages have severely affected daily life, disrupting households, businesses, students, and essential services. Demanding a permanent solution to the recurring electricity problems, they urged the administration and the power distribution company to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply.
