Bhubaneswar, Sept. 3 -- Food safety officials conducted raids at hotels, restaurants, sweet shops and fast-food outlets in Banki, Cuttack on Thursday, as part of an inspection drive in the area.

The district Food Safety Officer carried out the inspections along with the Executive Officer of Banki NAC. The team visited several food establishments to check compliance with food safety requirements.

During the drive, some sweet shop owners reportedly closed their establishments and left the area after seeing the inspection team.

The action comes amid wider food safety inspections being carried out in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack ahead of the festive season.
