Bhubaneswar, Sept. 1 -- Heavy rain continued across Odisha as an active monsoon system brought intense rainfall to several parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for Sundargarh and Keonjhar for Tuesday, while six other districts have been placed under an orange warning.

The warnings come as a well-marked low-pressure area persists over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-north Odisha coast. The system is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next 24 hours.
