Flood fury in Kendrapara: Village isolated, residents struggle for food and safety
Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8 -- Residents of Singhgaon panchayat in Pattamundai block of Odisha's Kendrapara district are facing severe hardship as floodwater has surrounded the village from all sides. The Brahmani River is overflowing on one side, while the Kani River, a branch of the Baitarani, is in spate on the other. With roads submerged, villagers have been left with virtually no safe route to move in or out of the area.
The flood has disrupted normal life in Singhgaon, with residents struggling to arrange food and other essentials. Villagers claim that ration has not reached them, adding to their difficulties at a time when movement has become nearly impossible.
