Five rescued orangutans brought to Nandankanan Zoo in Bhubaneswar, kept in quarantine
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 9 -- Five orangutans rescued from a forest in Bhograi block in Balasore have been brought to the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
According to sources, the animals will initially be kept in quarantine at the zoological park and undergo necessary health checkups.
Meanwhile, the rescue of these rare species from Odisha forest has raised questions about how a non-native mammals reached the area. The exact circumstances behind their arrival in Balasore, however, remain unclear.
