Five orangutans at Bhubaneswar Nandankanan Zoo to get music therapy for stress management
Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- Five orangutans at Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar will be given music therapy after the collection of their samples was postponed due to stress among the animals.
The sample collection process, which was scheduled to be carried out on Thursday, was stopped following advice from the Centre of Wildlife Health Committee. The committee reportedly advised against collecting samples while the orangutans remain under stress.
Samples of the five orangutans will be collected after around 10 days, once they are considered stress-free. The move is aimed at ensuring that the animals are in a suitable mental state before the procedure is carried out, said an official.
