Fishermen advised to stay off sea in Odisha as heavy rain likely to lash Bay of Bengal
Bhubaneswar, June 18 -- Fishermen along Odisha's northern coast have been advised not to venture into the sea due to the forecast of heavy rainfall and strong winds over the Bay of Bengal.
As per reports, the Fisheries Department in Bhograi and Chandaneswar areas of Balasore district has issued warnings through public announcement systems, urging fishermen and coastal residents to remain alert.
The department has cautioned fishermen operating in various coastal regions, particularly from Udaypur to Talsari, Bichitrapur and the Kirtania river mouth in Bhograi block, against entering the sea from June 18 to June 21. The advisory has been issued in view of the expected adverse weather conditions and rough sea state during the period.
