Bhubaneswar, June 8 -- A fire broke out in the paediatric ward of the Chhatrapur Sub-Divisional Hospital in Ganjam district of Odisha on Sunday. The incident caused panic among patients, attendants and hospital staff. However, no injuries or casualties were reported.

According to information, the reason behind the fire is suspected to be short circuit which likely started in the wiring of a ceiling fan inside the ward.

The incident occurred in the hospital's paediatric ward, where a child was present at the time when the fire broke out. After smoke and flames were noticed coming from inside the ward, hospital staff immediately alerted the fire services.
