Bhubaneswar, April 26 -- A truck driver sustained serious injuries after a head-on collision between a truck and a trailer led to both vehicles catching fire on National Highway-18 near Baripada on Saturday night.

According to information, the accident occurred near Kath Shiris on NH-18. Soon after the collision, both the truck and the trailer were engulfed in flames.

The impact of the collision and the subsequent fire resulted in both vehicles burning on the road for a considerable period, disrupting movement along the stretch.

Fire service personnel reached the spot after being alerted and initiated firefighting operations. The blaze was later brought under control, preventing further escalation.
