Bhubaneswar, June 5 -- A bus helper was killed and more than 10 passengers were injured after a passenger bus collided with a coal-laden truck on National Highway 55 in Odisha's Angul district in the early hours of Thursday.

The accident took place near Luhamunda on the Angul-Sambalpur stretch of NH-55 at around 2.30 am. The bus was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Jharsuguda when it rammed into the truck.

The identity of the deceased helper could not be established at the time of reporting.

According to reports, the bus had left Bhubaneswar at 10.45 pm and was carrying nearly 20 passengers at the time of the accident.
