Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- The family of the engineering student who was found dead in her hostel room at a private college in Golanthara, Ganjam district, Odisha has demanded a fair and transparent investigation into the case, questioning whether the accused has actually been arrested.

The student's family on Monday met the Berhampur SP and urged police to ensure that the accused is not allowed to escape action. Family members also sought clarity on the reported arrest of Biswajit Jena, nephew of Odisha Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena. They reportedly showed videos before the SP and demanded proof of the arrest, while seeking a neutral investigation into the case.
