Bhubaneswar, Nov. 2 -- A 70-year-old man died at Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital on Sunday. Following that, tension prevailed on the hospital premises after his family alleged medical negligence caused his death.

The deceased has been identified as Niranjan Mahakud. He is a resident of Bindha Chhak area under Tihidi block in Bhadrak district.

According to the allegations, Niranjan was admitted to the hospital at around 9 am on Sunday. As he complained of severe chest pain, his wife repeatedly called the nurses for assistance. However, she alleged that no one responded and that negligence in treatment led to her husband's death.
