Driving licence rules set to change, repeat traffic offenders may face fresh test
Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- The Centre is proposing major changes to the Motor Vehicles Act, including mandatory driving tests for repeat offenders and faster relief for road accident victims.
According to the proposed amendments, motorists seeking licence renewal may have to undergo a fresh driving test if their challan history shows repeated traffic-rule violations. The road transport ministry has also proposed that if a driving licence is revoked, the driver will not be eligible for a fresh licence for three years.
