Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- Hundreds of women staged a protest on Monday outside the Badamba block office in Odisha's Cuttack district, demanding immediate resolution of a prolonged drinking water crisis in their area.

Residents of Ward No. 1 of Biswambarpur village alleged that they have been facing severe shortages of potable water for a considerable period. Despite repeated appeals, they claim that no effective steps have been taken by the authorities concerned to address the problem.

To draw attention to their grievances, villagers, particularly women, gathered outside the block office carrying empty pots and buckets. The symbolic protest highlighted the daily struggle faced by residents in securing drinking water for their households. ...
