Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4 -- A dreaded criminal was injured in a police encounter near Ada Chhak under Simulia police station limits in Balasore late Thursday night after he allegedly opened fire at police personnel during a raid linked to an attempted robbery.

The criminal has been identified as Lokesh Singh. As per reports, Singh sustained a bullet injury to his left leg and was admitted to Bhadrak Medical for treatment.

As per reports, police had followed Lokesh and his accomplice while they were allegedly on their way to loot. However, after noticing the police team, Lokesh reportedly opened fire at the personnel.
