Bhubaneswar, June 27 -- A grieving family removed the body of their 14-year-old boy from his funeral bier just moments before cremating him in Odisha's Balasore district on Friday. The family halted the final rites after relatives highlighted the necessity of a formal post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of the teenager's sudden death.

The deceased minor was the son of Kishore Rana, a resident of Patana village under the Nilagiri police station limits. The boy unexpectedly fell ill while sleeping at his residence.
