Bhubaneswar, Sept. 20 -- A man allegedly beat his wife to death before dying by suicide at Dadara Ghati No. 3 Colony in Parjang, Dhenkanal, on Saturday night. The deceased couple have been identified as Rashmita Naik and Mithun Naik.

Preliminary information suggests that a family dispute may have led to the incident. Police reached the spot after receiving information and have started an investigation into the deaths.

According to police, the couple had an argument on Saturday night. The husband allegedly assaulted his wife during the quarrel. After she died from the injuries sustained in the assault, he reportedly died by suicide.
