Bhubaneswar, Oct. 22 -- A unique doll festival is adding a cultural touch to the Navratri celebrations in Berhampur, where a family is preserving the age-old Telugu tradition of Bommalu Koluvu through an elaborate display of more than 1,000 dolls and figurines.

Hosted at the residence of M. Venkata Rao and his wife, M. Padmavati, the festival brings together religious beliefs, mythological stories and Telugu cultural heritage through carefully arranged displays. Some of the dolls are more than 100 years old and have been passed down through generations.
