Bhubaneswar, March 25 -- India's upcoming Census 2027 is set to mark a major shift in how population data is collected, with the government adopting a fully digital approach for the first time. The move aims to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency, while ensuring strict safeguards for data privacy.
Unlike previous exercises, Census 2027 will rely heavily on technology. Enumerators will use dedicated mobile applications to collect data in the field. In a first, citizens will also have the option to submit their details independently through an online self-enumeration portal.
