Differently-abled man dies following 'third degree torture' by police, HRPC to investigate case
Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- A major controversy erupted in Odisha's Ganjam district after the family of a differently-abled man alleged that he died due to police assault while in custody at Kabisuryanagar police station on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Sushant Sahu of Subulia village. According to allegations made by his family, police had brought Sushant to Kabisuryanagar police station on May 25 in connection with a stone-blasting case.
His wife claimed that after being kept for several days in police custody, he was handed over to family members in a critical condition.
