Bhubaneswar, May 13 -- Police have arrested nine persons and seized a Bolero vehicle along with 1,120 litres of stolen diesel in a major theft case reported from the Lingaraj Coal Mines area under Talcher police limits in Odisha, officials said on Wednesday.

According to reports, a coal-laden train transporting coal from Talcher to NTPC Limited was stationed inside the mining area for coal loading operations when the incident took place.

During that time, nine miscreants allegedly arrived at the spot and threatened the loco pilot before siphoning diesel from the train. The stolen fuel was then loaded into a Bolero vehicle, sources said.
