Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- Situated amid hills and dense forests in Kadapada village under Odisha'sDhenkanal's Parjang block, Pathargarh is known as the district's "second Srikhetra" or "second Kapilas". Despite its religious significance and tourism potential, locals allege that development of the historic shrine has remained largely stagnant over the years.

Known for its association with several local legends and traditions, Pathargarh was granted tourism status during the previous government. A few infrastructure projects, including electricity connection, a rest house and a statue of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, were established at the site. However, residents claim little progress has been made since then.
