Bhubaneswar, May 2 -- Directorate of Education ( DoE) has directed that no private unaided recognised schools in Delhi can compel parents or guardians to pay fees for more than one month in a single instalment, following repeated complaints of financial pressure.

In an order issued on Friday, the DoE said several schools were forcing parents to pay fees on a bi-monthly, quarterly or advance basis, creating an undue burden, especially on low and middle-income families. "Such a practice imposes an undue financial burden. and runs contrary to equitable and inclusive access to education," the order stated.
