Deleted names can be restored before Odisha's final electoral roll: BJP's Manmohan Samal
Bhubaneswar, July 7 -- Rajya Sabha MP and Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal addressed concerns regarding the removal of more than 20 lakh names from the state's draft electoral roll on Monday. Speaking on the ongoing revision, Samal clarified that the current voter list is being systematically prepared on the foundation of the 2002 electoral roll to ensure accuracy.
Samal explained that the extensive deletions are part of a routine cleanup meant to remove deceased individuals and citizens who have permanently migrated out of the state. He assured that eligible voters whose names were mistakenly omitted have a clear path to correct their records through an official grievance mechanism.
