Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- Around 36 fishing boats from Andhra Pradesh carrying 319 fishermen have taken shelter at Odisha's Paradip Port as rough sea conditions prevented them from returning to their state. Strong gusty winds and heavy rain have been reported in the region since last night, making it difficult for fishing boats and trawlers to continue their journey.

The fishermen took shelter at Paradip after strong winds and rough waves made it unsafe for the boats to venture further into the sea. Of the 36 boats, 28 initially reached Paradip Port, while another eight trawlers later arrived seeking shelter.
