Bhubaneswar, March 28 -- Two people lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries after a sudden storm accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds struck Baripada late on Friday night, leading to multiple incidents involving fallen trees.

According to reports, the storm brought intense rainfall, strong winds, and lightning, resulting in trees being uprooted at several locations. Two motorcyclists died in separate incidents after being struck by or colliding with fallen trees.

Near Asanjoda on the Kuliana road, a tree fell on a motorcyclist, leading to his death. In a separate incident at Khunta on the Baripada-Udala road, another motorcyclist died after colliding with a fallen tree.
