Bhubaneswar, Aug. 7 -- A strong spell of rainfall is expected across Odisha under the influence of an active cyclonic circulation on Friday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted widespread precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across the entire state over the next five days.

For today, an orange warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for Mayurbhanj district. Meanwhile, a yellow warning remains in place for the remaining 29 districts of the state.

The IMD has issued a statewide thunderstorm and rainfall alert for Saturday as active weather conditions persist.
