Bhubaneswar, May 2 -- A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal during the second week of May, according to projections by the Global Forecast System (GFS).
As per the forecast model, a cyclonic circulation may develop over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas between May 11 and May 15. It is likely to gradually intensify into a low-pressure area thereafter.
The system may undergo further intensification in the following days, with possibilities of cyclogenesis, the process through which a cyclonic storm forms, the model indicated.
