Bhubaneswar, March 22 -- Cuttack Mayor Subhash Singh on Sunday strongly criticised cross-voting in the recent Rajya Sabha elections, accusing three MLAs from the district of betraying public trust and bringing disrepute to the city.

Singh named Souvic Biswal, Devi Ranjan Tripathy, and Sofia Firdous while expressing his criticism. He alleged that their actions had tarnished Cuttack's image and said the people of the state would not forgive what he termed a betrayal.

"They have committed such a betrayal that the people of the state will never forgive them," Singh said, adding that the MLAs would face political consequences in the future.
