Bhubaneswar, June 24 -- A customer was allegedly assaulted by hotel staff after complaining about the quality of biryani served to him at a roadside hotel near 15 Number Chhak under Kujang block in Odisha'sJagatsinghpur district on Tuesday. The incident led to a brief traffic jam on the busy road after the injured man was allegedly dragged out and thrown onto the road.

The victim, Sanjib Kumar Majhi of Jayanashipur village under Kujang area, had reportedly gone to the hotel along with some friends and family for a meal. Trouble began after he complained that the biryani served to him smelled foul and appeared stale.

According to Sanjib, the argument escalated after he questioned the hotel staff about the food quality.
