Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- A 32-year-old man from Ganjam district died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Berhampur on Monday. His family alleged that he was subjected to custodial torture at Kabisuryanagar police station after being detained in connection with a stone blasting case.

The deceased has been identified as Sushant Sahu of Subulia village. According to family members, police took him to Kabisuryanagar police station on May 25 in connection with the case.

The family alleged that Sushant was kept in police custody for several days and was handed over to them on Saturday in a critical condition.
