Bhubaneswar, March 11 -- Crimes against women recorded a sharp increase in Bhubaneswar in 2025, raising concerns about women's safety in the state capital. Official data show that cases surged by 139 per cent compared to the previous year.
In contrast, neighbouring Cuttack, which falls under the same Commissionerate Police system, reported a decline in such incidents during the same period. The figures highlight a stark difference in trends between the two cities.
