Corruption crackdown: Headmaster caught by Odisha Vigilance while accepting Rs 5,000 bribe in Kendrapara
Bhubaneswar, May 18 -- A headmaster of a high school in Odisha's Kendrapara district was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance on Monday while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a staff member to facilitate the release of pending salary dues.
The accused has been identified as Raghunath Das, Headmaster of a High School at Chadeiguan near Mahakalpada in Kendrapara district.
According to Vigilance officials, Das was caught while allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe amount from a newly appointed staff member of the same school for taking steps related to the drawal of his arrear salary.
Officials said the complainant had joined the school in August 2025 but had reportedly not received his salary since then.
