Bhubaneswar, July 14 -- Continuous rainfall has left several parts of Balasore town in a miserable condition, with rainwater entering numerous residential colonies and leaving vast areas inundated.

The situation has reportedly worsened this year due to the improper drainage of rainwater, severely disrupting the movement of both vehicles and pedestrians.

Local residents pointed to unplanned development and a lack of local cooperation as key factors behind the worsening crisis.
