Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4 -- The fifth instalment of the CM-KISAN scheme was disbursed to more than 41 lakh small and marginal farmers on Friday. Vulnerable tribal groups and landless farmer families across Odisha were given special importance.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi released the financial assistance at a programme held in Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar.

Under the latest instalment, Rs 2,000 was transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism. More than Rs 833 crore was disbursed as financial assistance under the scheme.
