Bhubaneswar, April 9 -- Cuttack's JMFC court on Thursday granted Bengaluru police a seven-day custody of Choudwar jailbreak accused Raja Sahani. 

Sahani will be interrogated until 15th April regarding his involvement in the theft of jewellery worth Rs 20 crore in the capital city of Karnataka.

Sahani's arrest will give the Karnataka police the authority to question him about how the large-scale theft was carried out. 

Sahani, the second fugitive from Choudwar Jail, was arrested in Uttarakhand on April 1, 2026.

Originally from Bihar, Sahani was captured in Rishikesh by a special police team. His arrest follows that of Madhukant Rana, who was caught by the police in Vrindavan.
