Bhubaneswar, April 2 -- In a major development in the Choudwar Jail escape case, the second absconding inmate, Raja Sahani from Bihar, was arrested by a special team of the Commissionerate Police from Rishikesh. 

His arrest comes months after he had escaped custody along with co-accused Madhukant Rana during Dussehra by scaling the prison wall.

Police sources said Sahani was evading arrest by frequently changing locations, moving across states and even travelling to Nepal. 

He was reportedly living under an assumed identity, altering his appearance and staying near a mutt in Rishikesh to avoid detection. After sustained tracking, the special team managed to trace and apprehend him.
