Bhubaneswar, Aug. 5 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Bhubaneswar on Wednesday conducted searches at premises linked to former Visakhapatnam MLA Malla Vijay Prasad in connection with an alleged chit fund fraud case.

The raids were carried out by the Bhubaneswar zonal office of the ED as part of its ongoing investigation into suspected financial irregularities and money laundering linked to chit fund operations, official sources said.

The action comes years after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch arrested Vijay Prasad in 2021 in connection with the alleged chit fund scam. Following his arrest, he was later granted conditional bail by the Odisha High Court.
