Bhubaneswar, April 3 -- Allegations of cheating in connection with the ritual offering of temple flags at PuriSrimandir surfaced on Thursday. The incident prompted the temple administration to issue a notice to the servitor concerned and initiate further action.
According to information, on April 1, a devotee from Hyderabad, accompanied by a servitor, visited the Srimandir branch office and produced a receipt while claiming permission to have a 'Bana' (flag) placed atop the Neelachakra. During verification, the Srimandir supervisor found that the receipt was not issued by the temple office, establishing it as fake.
The forgery was detected during routine verification, prompting immediate administrative action.
