Bhubaneswar, Oct. 2 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will investigate the much-discussed case involving Chameli Ojha, Sarpanch of Tikhiri under Mahakalapada block in Odisha's Kendrapara. A three-member NHRC team is scheduled to reach Kendrapara on October 5 to conduct the investigation.

The inquiry relates to allegations of assault and misbehaviour with Chameli Ojha inside the chamber of the Mahakalapada BDO on June 11. The NHRC's Delhi office informed the Kendrapara Superintendent of Police and District Collector about the visit through a letter.
