Bhubaneswar, March 15 -- In a significant policy change under the Essential Commodities Act, the Central Government has amended the rules governing the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) amid the LPG crisis due to the war in the Middle East.
According to the revised guidelines, consumers who already have a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection will no longer be eligible to retain an LPG connection.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued an official gazette notification regarding the amendment. As per the new rules, households that currently possess both PNG and LPG connections will be required to surrender their LPG connection.
