Bhubaneswar, April 16 -- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a comprehensive framework for the upcoming Second Board Examination for Class 10, scheduled for May 2026. 

This initiative, a core component of the National Education Policy 2020, establishes a dual-exam system designed to reduce academic stress and offer students a viable opportunity to improve their grades within the same academic cycle.

The reform aims to pivot away from high-stakes, single-day assessments by introducing a flexible "best-of-two" attempt model. By allowing students to retake up to three subjects, the Board intends to mitigate the intensity of the Secondary Stage and diminish the reliance on external coaching.
