CBI arrests MCL security inspector for accepting Rs 5,000 bribe
Bhubaneswar, June 12 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested a security inspector of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in Odisha's Jharsuguda district for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from an employee.
According to a report by Sambad, the accused, identified as Banshi Ram, was posted as a security inspector in MCL's Orient Area at Brajarajnagar. According to the CBI, he had allegedly demanded the bribe from an employee for allotting Sunday duty on a rotational basis.
The central agency said the employee approached the CBI and lodged a complaint alleging that the official was seeking money in exchange for extending the duty allocation benefit. After verifying the complaint, the agency registered a cas...
