Bhubaneswar, April 7 -- In a major crackdown on cattle smuggling, the Odisha Police launched extensive raids across multiple districts targeting suspected cow mafia networks, on Tuesday. The major operation is being carried out in Eastern Range of the State, with simultaneous searches underway at 32 different locations.
According to sources, the raids are currently being conducted in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts. Police teams have intensified their action against illegal cattle trade and associated criminal activities.
So far, police authorities have seized cash exceeding Rs 50 lakh along with gold ornaments during the ongoing operation. The seizures indicate the scale of this illegal network and its financial links....
