Bhubaneswar, April 3 -- The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) flagged multiple operational and compliance lapses in India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), including the opening of accounts without proper mobile number verification and linking of multiple customer records to a single mobile number.
The findings were part of a report tabled in Parliament on Thursday, which highlighted systemic issues affecting the bank's functioning. According to the audit, a significant number of IPPB accounts were either inactive or dormant, raising concerns about the effectiveness of its financial inclusion efforts.
