Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29 -- A businessman was shot at a busy spot in Sambalpur's Burla on Friday. This led to the detention of a man, recovery of a country-made pistol allegedly used in the crime.

The victim has been identified as M.D. Anish. He was reportedly shot near Kirba Square at around 11 am.

Anish, who owned a meat shop at Kirba Square, was reportedly attacked while people were present in the area. According to preliminary police information, more than three rounds hit his body. He was declared dead following the shooting.

Police later detained the accused, Radha Swami, who worked at Anish's shop and is reportedly from Jharsuguda.
