Bhubaneswar, April 22 -- A major accident was narrowly averted after a passenger bus lost control and rolled down the Bangiriposi ghat in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district due to an alleged brake failure.
According to reports, the bus, carrying more than 100 passengers, was travelling from Keonjhar to Kolkata when the mishap occurred. As the vehicle was descending the ghat road, its brakes reportedly failed, causing the bus to roll down the hill. It eventually came to a halt after crashing into a large rock at the base of the slope, preventing what could have been a catastrophic accident.Despite the severity of the situation, casualties were limited.
