Bhubaneswar, April 24 -- A major burglary was reported on Thursday night at Danu Sahi under Kalyansinghpur block in Odisha's Rayagada district, where miscreants allegedly broke into a businessman's house and fled with gold ornaments and cash.

Unidentified thieves reportedly stole approximately 82 grams of gold and Rs 3 lakh in cash from the residence of businessman Sushant Senapati.

According to reports, the house was locked at the time of the incident as no one was present. The owner, a native of Ganjam district, had been residing in Rayagada for work and had gone to his native village with his family for three to four days. The theft came to light on Friday morning when the family returned.
