Bhubaneswar, July 7 -- Continuous rainfall over the past two days has cut off Baghpada village under Saraspali in the Bheden block of Bargarh district in Odisha. The situation also reportedly caused severe uncertainty for a scheduled wedding ceremony.

As per reports, the village got completely isolated by rising waters in the canal. There was reportedly a bridge over the canal for main connectivity. However, that bridge collapsed nearly three years ago and was never repaired. The recent rains caused the water level in the canal to reach a chest-high level, which has left the villagers completely stranded.
